Westside, Right on Time

Meet Mark, a 22 year old Spotify playlist curator from Las Vegas, NV…
“Where words leave off, music begins. Music gives form to the ineffable. It fills the void of limitations that words leave us all with. I encourage everyone reading this to always keep an open mind to new sounds and news artists. It gets harder and harder for artists to break out from the mold because people aren't giving them a chance. They are judged before even having the time of day. Keep your mind and heart open to new music and you might discover something you love. Something thats been missing from your life until now.”

When & why did you make your playlist?

I made this playlist back in 2016 for personal use only. After a few months I started getting hundreds of followers liking my playlist . I see this as a blessing because it made me feel like I was less and less alone. People from all over the word had a similar taste in music and it became something to connect over. I still update it to this day.

Describe your playlist. Perfect situation(s) for jamming include:

This music is for everyone. It is a collection of rap, hiphop, and R&B that anyone can enjoy. The best way to listen to this playlist is in a car stuck in traffic with your friends.

What was the best concert you've ever attended and why? (Include as many details as you'd like: city / venue / when / with whom...)

The best concert I've ever been to had to be Travis Scott back in April of 2017. Travis is one of the best performers of all time and gives back the same amount of energy you give.

What kind of music / artists did you grow up listening to?

Growing up I listened to Michael Jackson on repeat. A lot of pop and hip hop today is inspired by what he's done. A true legend.

Who are your all-time favorite artists and why?

My top 3 favorite artists are: Kendrick Lamar, Travis Scott, Frank Ocean. These 3 will always have a special place in my heart.
