Meet Sarah, 26 years old from Bethlehem, PA
“In high school, I was obsessed with Warped Tour and Bamboozle. I loved the music they had there and the atmosphere. I truly feel this playlist is a snapshot of what you would hear if you went to the warped tour 2009! When I made it, I never intended to have over 2k followers, it was just for me and my friends to listen and jam out to!”
What music did you grow up listening to as a young kid?
When I was really young I was totally on the boy band / Britney Spears wagon but the year before I went into high school some older neighbors of mine invited me to go with them to Bamboozle in NY and everything changed! I was totally into the scream / alternative rock music and (to my dad's horror) the guys who were performing and attending. I really started to get into that scene and find new artists who no one had ever heard of before! We saw All Time Low when they were opening for the Jonas Brothers at Crock Rock in Allentown and I was blown away!
What is the best concert you've ever been to?
I wish I could say my first concert, the Hush Sound but since it was a school night my parents made us leave early so we didn't even get to see their entire set! We did get to meet Silverstein though! I think my favorite concert would have to be the Bamboozle I went to in 2009 with Paramore headlining. That one had EVERYONE all at different stages and throughout the entire day. I don't think we stopped for food once in fear of missing someone! That was back when everyone came out for signatures and pictures and would tweet where they were hanging out so you could go meet them. The lead singer of Boys like Girls Martin Johnson even have his phone number to my friend and asked her to come back stage (which was totally inappropriate considering we were like 15)!
Name your top 3 favorite artists and why?
Paramore has to be on this list of favorites. How could you listen to all their albums and not be outrageously obsessed with Hayley Williams? In the past, I would have probably also said All Time Low but I'm not a huge fan of what they are up to currently. I did recently see Mayday Parade and they are still killing it! I love their sound and energy! And finally, I would say Panic at the Disco! because I'm still obsessed with their early work so much and there is no one out there to can match them. Their new stuff also still sounds like them and is so catchy!
Do you play any instruments? If no, which instrument do you wish you could play?
I do not but I wish I did! In school, I played the flute and hated it! I tried to learn the ukulele in College but it was very difficult to practice when living with roommates in a dorm room. I guess if I could play any instrument it would be the guitar. I'm a sucker for acoustic music and would love to be able to make all my fav songs acoustic.
