Meet Sara Hetyonk, a 27-year-old from Santa Barbara.
“I recently got married in Kona, Hawaii and we had friends from all over join us for a few days before. One of my husband's friends and I started talking about music and what we liked. I shared that I had a playlist he would like called, Vacation Haus. His jaw dropped, and he said "you're Vacation Haus? Then he looked at my husband and said, You're marrying Vacation Haus!" I still tease my husband that he not only married me but also my playlist.”
What music did you grow up listening to as a young kid?
Broadway/Disney soundtracks and the Spice Girls. I also listened to a lot of Sunny 106.5 (I still remember the jingle they had) because I grew up in Las Vegas and it is ALL my mum would listen to. So I listened to a lot of the '70s, '80s, and '90s. Celine, Barbara, Lionel, Elton. You name it.
What is the best concert you’ve ever been to?
Hans Zimmer. Hands down. No question. I cried.
Do you play any instruments? If no, which instrument do you wish you could play?
Does singing count? I wish I could play the piano but for now, I'll stick to karaoke.
Question: What artist, dead or alive, who would you interview and why?
Seinabo Sey mostly because her voice is like velvet and I'd just like to listen to her talk but also because she spans genres.
Question: Name one of your favorite albums of all time?
Above & Beyond - Acoustic II. I was lucky enough to see their Acoustic show live at the Hollywood Bowl and it was magic.
