Meet Chelsea, 27 years old from Nederland, CO
“I grew up road-tripping with my parents and siblings at least once a year. I've driven all over the country with family & friends and the music is what always kept us going. I needed an epic playlist that incorporated all of my favorites - from every genre - and wouldn't repeat a song for at least a days' worth of open road.”
What is the soundtrack to your life?
My "15 Songs I'm Pretty Obsessed With Right Now" playlist. It's literally the soundtrack at any given moment.
The Temptations, hands down.
If you had the chance to interview an artist, who would it be? (Dead or alive)
I would love to just chill with Cher for a bit.
What is the best concert you have ever been to?
Brendan James at eTown Hall in Boulder, CO. It's a tiny venue (an upcycled church) and I was there with my sister in the 2nd row. I have never been part of a more intimate musical experience; it had a lasting effect on me.
Do you have a favorite quote?
(Translated from Spanish): "Everyone wants to live on top the mountain, without realizing that true happiness lies in the way we climb the slope." - Johnny Welch, "La marioneta"
Do you play any instruments? If not, any you would love to learn?
I played violin growing up but it's been a long time. I was trained in Suzuki, so I can still play almost anything by ear, but I would love to learn piano or guitar - or relearn violin - more seriously.
What is the most annoying song in the world?
I have a 2-year-old. The correct answer is "Baby Shark."
What’s more important to you? Music; or Lyrics? Why?
Music, because it can still move me without lyrics. Lyrics without music are poetry - which can also move me - but I listen to a lot more instrumental music than I do read poetry.
