Meet Jackie, a 26 year old Spotify playlist curator from Kansas City, Kansas.
“I made [my playlist] about 5 years ago, maybe, to compile a list of bangers for any mood.”
Describe your playlist. Perfect situation(s) for jamming it include:
It's mostly popular rap/hip-hop from the time I made it. It's a good playlist for jammin out in the gym, smokin a j, or just chillin. A lot of raw energy in those songs.
Who is your favorite artist?
From this playlist-- Lil Wayne
What's your favorite show you've ever been to? Describe what made it special:
I have a 3 way tie for 1st between Lil Wayne, Tom Petty, and Electric Light Orchestra (AWOLNATION is a close 2nd) and it's all because of the energy those artists brought to the stage and the crowds. Just downright contagious.
What song do you currently have on repeat?
Rotisserie by Yung Gravy
Who is the first artist you remember connecting to growing up?
Good Charlotte lol
Is there any music that turns you off? If so, what genres / artists:
I'm not a big fan of country music anymore. I was until about 5 years ago when everything started to sound the same. I also don't relate to it as much as other genres.
If you could interview one artist dead or alive, who would it be and why?
Tom Petty or Freddie Mercury. To do what those artists did in their respective times and how diligent and determined they were to put out THEIR own sound how THEY wanted, even when people told them it wouldn't sell or they were crazy. I truly admire how they pursued their passion with everything they had in them despite adversity.
What's more important to you: lyrics or production?
I don't think it matters what I think. It's up to the artist to sell me one or the other. Or in some instances, both.
