Meet Raymundo, a 23 year old from Arizona.
"I was throwing a lot of house parties and wanted to be able to throw on a playlist featuring great hip hop hits, classics and whatever was the current wave. Everything from old school west coast hip hop to the newer SoundCloud wave that really started to take off in the mid-2010's. It was a way to see how the current landscape of hip hop was shifting and where that stemmed from."
Do you play any instruments? If no, which instrument do you wish you could play?
I started playing piano at age 8, learned percussion in school. I taught myself guitar and picked up some other similar instruments such as bass and ukulele. Music has always been my outlet and always been a huge part of my life.
What is the best concert you’ve ever been to?
Kanye's Saint Pablo Tour!
What artist, dead or alive, who would you interview and why?
Frank Ocean. I found his progression as an artist very interesting and would love to get his insight on what has inspired his ever changing sound. He's very secretive and likes to play coy and I'd just love to get a peek inside his mind!
What music did you grow up listening to as a young kid?
Mostly pop-punk and whatever was playing on the radio as I grew up. It wasn't until later in high school and college that I got into hip-hop.
Name one of your favorite albums of all time?
For Emma, Forever Ago by Bon Iver. My music tastes really go all over the place.
