Meet Natalie, a 21-year-old Spotify playlist curator from London.
“In my first year of university, I found out that the guy I was seeing and whom I loved, was seeing another girl. I created The Fuck You Playlist to get over him. The songs included in this playlist only reflect the feelings I experienced during that time; from anger to hurt, from hurt to acceptance, from acceptance to empowerment.”
What is the soundtrack to your life?
I would say that my life soundtrack consists of multiple pieces of music including, Universally Speaking by the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Black Hearts (on fire) by Jet, The Box by Johnny Flynn, and This Must Be The Place by Talking Heads, just to name a few.
What’s more important to you? Music; or Lyrics? Why?
Lyrics are more important to me because whilst I will not always connect with the singer on the level they were on when they wrote the song when I do, that confirmation always blows my mind.
My favorite artist varies. At the moment I am listening to Maribou State.
If you had the chance to interview an artist, who would it be? (Dead or alive)
If I could interview any artist, alive or dead, it would be Freddie Mercury.
The last concert I went to was RY X.
