Meet Diego Paladino, a 36-year-old from Zurich, Switzerland.
“Music has been a huge part of my life since early childhood. I sing and play bass with a punk-metal-ish combo called the Sick Fox and make a living as a Digital Marketer & Web Developer.”
What is the soundtrack to your life?
A brute force wall of sound from electric guitars, supported by loud and rhythmic drums accompanied by a funky bassline and topped off with harmonic Vocals with loads of Pop Appeal. Oh and everything with a heavy, unmistakable 80s Vibe going on.
What is the most annoying song in the world?
"I’m walking on Sunshine” by Katrina and the Waves
What’s more important to you? Music; or Lyrics? Why?
It’s the right combination that does the trick. If I have to choose one, it’s gonna be music though. As much as there are songs that are able to touch my heart with great lyrics alone, I usually get more goosebumps from melodies and arrangements even if they are sometimes paired with the most mundane and meaningless lyrics. Long live Pop Music.
The Beatles, David Bowie, and Depeche Mode have surely influenced me the most as a listener. As a musician, I drew most inspiration from singers such as Iggy Pop, Pearl Jam’s Eddie Vedder, and Social Distortion’s Mike Ness. Otherwise, lots of British Bands here, The Smiths, Pulp, The Libertines. Lot’s of Modern Punk and Post Hardcore Bands here like NoFX, Lagwagon, At The Drive-In, Thursday. And a lot of Pop Icons like the late Michael Jackson, Justin Timberlake or Lady Gaga. I adore her work a lot.
If you had the chance to interview an artist, who would it be? (Dead or alive)
Tech N9ne with Krizz Kaliko in Zurich last week. I’m not that deep into hip hop, though I like my good share of classic 90s rap. But I was positively surprised. The show was entertaining and the crowd a lot more relaxed than I expected from a rap show.
