Meet Kristin, a 23-year-old Spotify playlist curator from Pittsburgh, PA.
“My name is Kristin, I'm a lab technician who studies infectious diseases. I am the type of person who always has her headphones in her ears. Music is what gets me through the day. I used to have a CD player and would drag along CDs wherever I went. Thankfully I have Spotify now. I can't imagine doing experiments or riding the bus without my phone playing music.”
What is the soundtrack to your life?
Bad Blood by Bastille. It's full of so many different sounds, and it definitely sums up the different areas of my life. With the upbeat and exciting rhythm of Laura Palmer to the somber tones of Oblivion and Flaws, this album does a great job of mixing different emotions.
What is the most annoying song in the world?
I have to honestly say Despacito. I've just heard it too many times, and it's not really my type of music.
What’s more important to you? Music or lyrics? Why?
I would say music. Lyrics are important, but music is universal. The emotions and intentions you put behind each note are what comes out in the song no matter who is listening. Music is a universal language, and I feel like that makes it so powerful to people all over the world.
Bastille. I've followed them for years and they've gotten me through really hard times in my life. They're the only band I have followed consistently for a number of years, and they've really helped shape my current music tastes. I can't wait to see them again in concert. I didn't think it was possible to love a band as much as I love Bastille.
