Meet RayLee, a sales manager, from the great state of Texas.
“My sister told me I should make a playlist. I’ve always loved finding music and having people listen to it. I started as a kid making mix tapes (I hope I didn’t just age myself...I’m still a millennial.), went to mixed CD’s, and now it’s playlists!”
What music did you grow up listening to as a young kid?
I grew up listening to country music via my dad, hip hop via my mom, hymns via my Papaw, and all that late 90’s early 00’s pop goodness courtesy of all my small town preteen best friends.
Name one of your favorite albums of all time?
At Folsom Prison by Johnny Cash.
What is the best concert you’ve ever been to and why?
Elle King!! I’ve seen her twice and she’s such a presence. She’s funny, she connects, her music has texture, and that woman can SANG!
What is the last song you listened to?
Actually, the last song I listened to was something that was sent to me as a submission to my playlist. The artist’s name is Mysie and the song is Rocking Chair.
What is your favorite quote? Or do you have a life slogan?
So I don’t have a life slogan, but sometimes I’ll hear a quote during a point in my life and it speaks to that particular season in my life that I’m in.... I’m currently listening to the audio book version of Girl, Stop Apologizing and just this morning she says, “If everything is important then nothing is important.” And it spoke to me with my crazy workload.
