Meet Christel Hilmo, from Oslo, Norway.
“I’ve always been interested in the arts, and especially visual arts, but when I started working as a DJ I’ve found myself leaning more and more towards music. The best feeling is when I play one of my favorite jams in the club and really connects with the dance floor through the music. Other than working as a DJ I’m a bit undecided career-wise. Skating has proven to be one of my favorite things to do when I need to take some steam off. ”
What is the soundtrack to your life?
«Deceptacon» by Le Tigre when I’m cheerful, and Bobby Womack’s cover of «California Dreamin’» when I’m down.
What is the most annoying song in the world?
What’s more important to you? Music; or Lyrics? Why?
A younger me would definitely have answered lyrics, but in the last couple of years I’ve listened to a lot of electronica and house, and really learned to appreciate those genres as well. Also, when I’m playing at a club, the beat tends to be more important than the lyrics.
The Icelandic band Sigur Rós.
If you had the chance to interview an artist, who would it be? (Dead or alive)
A local indieband at a small venue here in Oslo. I don’t even remember the band’s name.
