Meet Lada, 24 years old originally from Moscow, Russia.
“I love discovering new music on Spotify. I've always enjoyed creating playlists. Whenever I get into any specific mood, music is just that one thing I can always relate to. There are so many different genres out there and they can match an individual's emotions so easily.”
What is the soundtrack to your life?
Pools by Glass Animals. The sound of that song is so psychedelic and lovely in every way. It can instantly put me in a good mood.
What’s more important to you? Music; or Lyrics? Why?
I love music with every fiber of my being. I think music is what truly connects us as people in many ways. However, I really enjoy reading lyrics. You can really tell a lot about an artist by the lyrics he/she writes. They are the very essence and soul of a song. Some lyrics are so straightforward yet other can be immensely subjective to the listener. I love it.
Favorite artist? Top 5?
If you don't know who Allan Rayman is, you're missing out big time. He's definitely my favorite artist by far. Allan Rayman is such a phenomenal artist. I've never heard an artist that sounds like him. He's also a very free spirited and mysterious soul to see perform live. Rainbow Kitten Surprise is also a favorite of mine. You would like them if you enjoy alternative indie rock. Hozier is also incredible. His music sounds almost that of a gospel genre yet his lyrics have such dark, underlying themes. I love it.
If you had the chance to interview an artist, who would it be? (Dead or alive) and why?
The Beatles. Hands down. They experimented with new sound, brought new elements to their music, and used their fame to expand people's minds while making music that was both interesting, catchy, and VERY different from a lot of what was out there.
ZHU & ODESZA. Both incredible in every way. I'm not sure I'll ever experience a concert like that ever again. Truthfully, it wasn't even a concert. It was a PERFORMANCE to the highest degree.
