Meet Happy Alfano, 33 years old from Canmore.
“I started this playlist sometime around when I was writing my first book, and living with an amazing lady named Tesla. Mountaineering or Rick & Morty was the only thing we would use the TV for. The results of the lifestyle I was living resulted in becoming homeless with a head injury, and I hung myself. Luckily the branch somehow broke, and I used this playlist to keep balanced. It became a mantra to start my day. It developed from only positive vibes, to the truth of the middle path. This playlist saved my life. I listen to it regularly, and try to update it to stay with the flow. A simple paragraph will never explain why I have this playlist. It is Love and ISHTAR. What the kids these days call #wokeaf. It is conscious music.”

What is the soundtrack to your life?
Currently 'The Land of Mega Seeds & Unity'. It is literally a song to describe my view on life, and was inspired by this playlist.
Favorite artist?
Craig Minowa for indie, J Spin for Hip Hop, and Roger Waters for the classics.
If you had the chance to interview an artist, who would it be? (Dead or alive)
Switch. He is an incredibly talented lyricist, that speaks the half truths I have faced here. I have many questions, and am always looking forward to what he is doing next.
What is the best concert you have ever been to?
Radiohead. Life was a mess, and I flew my brother out to Vancouver to see them in an outdoor venue with a ton of my friends. It was unreal. It was his 2nd concert, and we were right at the front. Lost each other. Light hit, and there were 3 people between us. Rained the whole time, froze waiting for post midnight busses in huddles with strangers. The busses could not handle the crowd. It was LOVE the whole trip.
Do you have a favorite quote?
'The best part of life is the living.' - unknown
Do you play any instruments? If not, any you would love to learn?
I play many instruments, and have since I was young. Music is life when you can hear the universe sing.
Do you have a life slogan?
Hike on.
What is the most annoying song in the world?
A Distorted Reality is a Necessity to be Free. It is also one of my favorite songs. It is annoying as I tabbed it out years ago, and I kinda still recall it, yet all the tab online is way off. I cannot seem to figure it out again. XO E.S.
What’s more important to you? Music; or Lyrics? Why?
Lyrics, as the input into your brain is the only thing it can provide back. This playlist is the embodiment of exactly that.
