Meet Livy, a 35-year-old Spotify playlist curator from Columbia.
“I wanted to create a playlist that I could chill out to. Most playlists seem to have a genre, but I wanted to mix it up. I love flamenco, bossa nova, indie, Caribbean, reggae, fado, and rock music - and all of them make me feel happy in different moments.”
If you had the chance to interview an artist, who would it be?
Johnny Cash and June Carter Cash. I think they were pretty cool and their lyrics are awesome.
Do you have a hidden talent?
I'm a good dancer - I dance to flamenco and Latin rhythms. I'm also a long distance runner.
Do you play any instruments? If no, which instrument do you wish you could play?
I tried to learn guitar when I was a teenager but I wasn't any good, and I was even worse with drums. But when I dance flamenco, I am part of the percussion in the songs.
Do you have a favorite quote?
"Now that we can't be perfect at least be good...." from the book East of Eden
What's more important to you: music or lyrics? Why?
Really, they're both important for me. I think the Kings of Convenience has the perfect combination of both great lyrics and music. However, I have lots of African songs that just make me dance or song without lyrics but strong instrumentals that make you dream...I love the song Llegaste from Cerati.
