Meet Jordan, a 27 year old Spotify playlist curator & record label manager from Berlin, Germany.
“I really like to create playlists in order to share artists we have in our roster with artists we love and with friends. The rock & punk scene should be a scene full of love where people just share and help each other and playlists are one of the forms to do it.”
What music did you listen to growing up?
Punk Rock and Melodic Hardcore (Comback Kid, FC Five, Millencolin, Ambitions, Bridge Nine releases...)
What is your favorite quote?
"Yes Satan? Sorry sir you sounded like someone else." - Ace Ventura
If you could interview any artist, dead or alive, who would you interview and why?
Touche Amore: their music is so emotional and powerful that I'd be happy to just learn even more about where it comes from.
Who do you want to see live in concert before you die?
The Offspring: it's a classic but I never saw them yet unfortunately.
Who are your more recent favorite artists?
The Dirty Nil, Talk Show Host, The Human Project, New Native
Why do you like listening to playlists?
I usually like to discover new artists or artists I know but with a new single and playlists give you this opportunity. Then, if I really like a single, I tend to listen to the full album online first and then purchase the vinyl if it's available. Then I listen to albums at home with my vinyl turntable but still need my playlists when I bike to work or wherever..
What genre of music is your favorite to listen to?
Indie-Punk-Rock I'd say, but I'm really open and not narrow to a genre, I listen to more jazz at work or soundtracks. There are also some hip-hop afrobeat soul mixed songs that I fancy recently, I can recommend for example Ana Diaz and her last EP "Rec_Final", it's a really great release!
