Positive Hip Hop

Positive Hip Hop

Meet Jason Stinecipher, 32 years old from Charlotte, North Carolina.
“For myself. Growing up during what I consider to be the golden age of hip hop. In my head there was two different types of hip hop. Positive/ backpack and dope/more hardcore hip hop. I actually have a second playlist that is just as nice called dope hip hop. It’s kind of the opposite of this playlist.”

What is the soundtrack to your life?

College Dropout-Kanye or Nas- Hiphop his dead

What’s more important to you? Music; or Lyrics? Why?

I’ve always been a big fan of lyricist. Nas is my all time fav so if that tells you anything. There really are two types of listeners. People who hear the beat and people who hear the story. I enjoy both aspects by if the rappers not saying anything I can’t get down to it.

Favorite artist? Top 5?

Hip hop only- Nas, old Kanye, black thought-roots crew, Eminem ,  ghostface killa

If you had the chance to interview an artist, who would it be? (Dead or alive) and why?

I don’t speak Spanish but I’d say maybe big pun. He’s forgotten greatness. People never mention him and he was so talented. This may be blasphemy but I honestly think he would of had a better collection of music then pac or big.

Last concert?

Nas, talib kweli, jay electronica
