Meet Mark, a 27 year old Spotify playlist curator from London…
“I’m interested in street dance, football, and always keen to hear new music so send me something if you think it's good! Some of my favorite quotes are: If you don't challenge yourself, you'll never know’ - Vinnie Jones and, ‘Perché la notte appartiene a noi’ - Amabile Giusti”

When & why did you make your playlist?

I made the playlist approximately 5 years ago to build a library of songs/beats to dance to. It's become a collection of popping/hip hop dance music I've picked up over the years from watching dance battles and demos, as well as through attending classes and jams.

Describe your playlist. Perfect situation(s) for jamming include:

Funky hip hop. It reflects the way my music taste (and dance taste) has evolved, from Les Twins and the music associated with hip hop dance, to West Coast popping and funk styles such as electric boogaloo. It's a diverse playlist with over 300 songs so it's perfect for any situation.

What was the best concert you've ever attended and why? (Include as many details as you'd like: city / venue / when / with whom...)

Hard Rock Calling 2009 - Hyde Park, London:
Bruce Springsteen
Dave Matthews Band
Gaslight Anthem
James Morrison

What kind of music / artists did you grow up listening to?

Linkin Park, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Oasis, The Killers, Avril Lavigne etc. 90s rock music, accessed from my older brother's CD collection.

Who are your all-time favorite artists and why?

Oasis - nostalgic. Snoop Dogg - because who doesn't love that west coast hip hop bounce. RHCP - their early funk rock sound has influenced my overall taste in music and the way I dance.
