Meet Mina, a 17-year-old music lover from Leeds, England.
“My music taste varies. I’m very fond of mellow/soft hearing sounds and therefore find myself listening to a lot of Lofi music as well as acoustic versions of songs. I’m not as keen on mainstream music, I love listening to smaller artists and support local bands, there are some real hidden gems out there. I am very open with my music taste, I am open to everything and anything.”

Why did you make your playlist?
Whenever I make a playlist, it’s to organize all the songs stuck in my head and certain types of songs.

Who are some of your favorite artists?
Someone who I’ve loved for a while who has made a name for themselves is Loyle Carner, he has a great voice!
I also love the artists: Tyde Levi, Sarah Close, and Byron Langley.
I really recommend the songs:
Light on by Byron Langley
Sober, Tyde Levi
Crazy kind, Sarah close
Loose ends, Loyle Carner

What’s more important to you? Music; or lyrics? Why?
Music is more important to me than lyrics. This is because when we listen to music, we interpret the lyrics differently to the artist who wrote them despite maybe undertaking where they come from. I am able to connect to the music more if I’m able to interpret them my way, taking me back to good memories, bad memories, certain phases in my life, reminding me of all the people I’ve met, all the things I’ve done, seasons in life, etc. Music is what you want it to be, you are not limited. It’s art.

If you had the chance to interview any artist, who would it be? (dead or alive)
If I had a chance to interview any artist it would be Sabrina Carpenter, this is because I grew up watching her on tv on girl meets world and falling in love with her incredible voice. I have been a fan of Sabrina since her early days of starting out, it’s been amazing watching her grow.

Last concert you went to?
The last concert I went to was Shawn Mendes back in March, he has a very iconic voice. As well some very well written songs
