Meet Karina Prieto, a journalist from Chile who would love to be a singer!
“I am grateful for this beautiful life that I get to live, always with eyes wide open so as not to miss anything.”
What music did you grow up listening to as a young kid?
I grew up listening to my mom's favorite radio station, romantic music in Spanish, too sweet for me.
At age 12 I started listening to more urban music, and I got to reggaeton, which is my favorite style, to dance to and sing.
Name one of your favorite albums of all time?
I do not have a favorite album because the last one I hear is always my new favorite, but "vibras" by j balvin and "x100pre" by bad bunny are currently my favorites.
What is the best concert you’ve ever been to and why?
My best friend is a sign language interpreter, so the best concerts I go to are the ones when she is on stage. Now she is going to present at the Festival de Viña del Mar with Benjamín Walker.
What is the last song you listened to?
"Esto no es una canción de amor" by Polimá Westcoast, Gianluca and Young Cister.
How did the playlist come to be?
It started as a joke. I always say that I am an expert in "perreo", so I started the playlist as a challenge to show how much I knew about the genre. Before I knew it, the list became massive! I am surprised by the magnitude of the playlist. Sometimes people ask me to add their songs to the list, from the USA, from Italy, far away countries.
