Meet Tim Stoll, 21 years old from Germany.
“I was listening to the '80s Smash Hits' playlist on Spotify, and I thought I could do better!”
What is the soundtrack to your life?
'The Queen is Dead' by the Smiths, listened to that album dozens of times, that's what I call a perfect album.
Favorite artist? *
Those change very often.
But if I'd have to choose one just now, I'd say the Velvet Underground (overall favorite), and pick New Order for today (just listen to 'Age of Consent', what a way to start of 1983's 'Power, Corruption and Lies'!).
If you had the chance to interview an artist, who would it be? (Dead or alive)
Ian Curtis; or Astrud Gilberto (despite she seems like a crazy cat lady, according to her website, haha!).
But if I had to choose, I'd pick Ian. It would just be so interesting, to talk to someone who's written some of the darkest music ever, and took his own life at only 23 years of age (not even making it to the 27 club, now that's dark!).
Do you have a life slogan? *
What’s more important to you? Music; or Lyrics? Why? *
For me, there's no difference in importance. I could listen to Jazz all day, but also to Jim Morrison's (and the Doors') 'An American Prayer' (for example).
But there are also perfect mixtures of both worlds, like the Smiths.
