One in a Million

Meet Etienne, 29 years old from Ankara, Turkey
“I’m Ezgi, a graduate student and public worker living in Turkey. In the time I can take away from school, work and life in general, I like to deal with music - playing, listening, and discovering. My father is a musician and there was never been a quite moment in the house I grew up in. Someone is always singing (my dad), playing or listening to music. I have been exposed to a lot of different genres of music and my preference of them changes depending on my mood or what I’m doing. This shows in my playlists too I guess; they are consistent within themselves but also all over the place on the whole.”

What is the soundtrack to your life?

Right now it is This is Hell by Elvis Costello.

What is the most annoying song in the world?

No song has been able to dethrone Everytime We Touch by Cascada in this area yet.

What’s more important to you? Music; or Lyrics? Why?

Music. Not that lyrics are not important but music is generally what pulls you into the song. I cannot enjoy good lyrics with a bad melody. If the lyrics are bad I can at least hum the melody but I probably would not want to hear the song again and again.

Favorite artist?

The answer changes from time to time. Life is too long to have only one favorite artist but right now I would say Childish Gambino.

If you had the chance to interview an artist, who would it be?

Freddie Mercury looks so bored during the interviews. It would be amusing to watch that and hear him curse.

Last concert?

It was by a local band called Sinağrit Baba.
