Meet Stuart, a 28 year old Spotify playlist curator from Dalston, London, UK.
“I’m Head of Social Media at a Sports Tech Company, originally from Essex, living in London. Football (soccer) obsessed.”
What is the soundtrack to your life?
I’m not entirely sure! My life isn’t simple enough to sum up in one soundtrack. For me, the soundtrack to my life is the music with stories I can relate to, whoever that artist, whatever the genre.
What is the most annoying song in the world?
Baby Shark. For obvious reasons. It’s everywhere.
What’s more important to you? Music; or Lyrics? Why?
Lyrics are definitely more important to me. Songs to me are mini stories, fictional or non fictional. Lyrics are what connect audiences with artists, the music is the vehicle for that story to be told.
Currently Loyle Carner. So relatable and an incredible lyricist. Genuine reasoning behind every song and lyric. All his music talks about situations relatable to all his audiences, especially for a London resident.
If you had the chance to interview an artist, who would it be? (Dead or alive)
I would love to interview the King of Soul. Sam Cooke’s impact on modern pop music and the world in general can’t be overestimated plus he was a sensational storyteller through his music and crafted some of my favourite ever songs.
It was actually last night! Caught Australian singer songwriter Graace at Thousand Island, before she was heading off to Brooklyn. Brilliantly intimate gig.
