Meet Gideon, a 22 year old Spotify playlist curator from Renton, Washington…
“Just a dumb Indie kid that likes finding music that makes me feel joy, understand pain, and appreciate the art in my life.”
When & why did you make your playlist?
I made my playlist back in high school so I had an awesome nice night drives playlist.
Describe your playlist. Perfect situation(s) for jamming include:
Perfect for a long commute, a peaceful hike, or gentle nights sleep.
What was the best concert you've ever attended and why? (Include as many details as you'd like: city / venue / when / with whom...)
I've never attended a legitimate concert/show.
What kind of music / artists did you grow up listening to?
I had a pretty isolated childhood when it comes to music. My parents were very religious and I didn't get to start experimenting till i was in Junior High. I started off with the pop punk classics, all of the popular songs at the time. As my music taste matured I felt drawn to more alternative artists and styles. Coldplay, The Fray. Temper Trap, 1975, Phoenix, Two Door, Cinema were some of my favorite bands when I was younger.
Who are your all-time favorite artists and why?
Blink 182 and Fallout Boy were my first two loves. I felt that I really identified with the music and found it relatable. I love the sound and vibe of the 1975. Bad Suns was probably my favorite band my Senior year. And then Blind Pilot and Ben Howard, because its impossible not to feel emotional from their songs.
