Meet Karina, a 25 year old Spotify playlist curator from Oslo, Norway.
“I made my playlist in 2014. I made it to have all my babies under the same roof. And now I can listen to an old song and remember what I did at that time. Sounds like a cliché, but I love it.”
Describe your playlist. Perfect situation(s) for jamming it include:
"Johnny, la gente esta muy loca" means "Johnny, people are very crazy." And personally, I just think people should dance. Alone. In their underwear.
Who is your favorite artist?
Kanye West. He hates being Bi-polar but I think its awesome.
What's your favorite show you've ever been to? Describe what made it special:
Kendrick Lamar. Oslo, 2018. He has a unique ability to mix art and commerce, politics and mainstream. I think he is a stylist and innovator within his genre. Plus, money trees is the perfect place for shade and that's just how i feel.
What song do you currently have on repeat?
This answer will remain the same until the day I die. Money for Nothing by Dire Straits. Every time I listen to it I want to google "How to play the guitar like Mark Knophler" But it usually ends up with me playing air guitar.
Who is the first artist you remember connecting to growing up?
Dire Straits. My dad practically raised me with that band playing in the background.
Is there any music that turns you off? If so, please list genres / artists:
"Yo, Taylor, I'm really happy for you, I'mma let you finish, but Beyoncé had one of the best videos of all time" (And better music. Sorry Taylor)
If you could interview one artist dead or alive, who would it be and why?
Kanye West. And I would do anything to make him smile.
What's more important to you: lyrics or production?
Lyrics for rainy days. Production for Saturdays.
