Meet Sam, a music lover from Bedford/London (UK)
“My name is Sam Girling, I turned to music after breaking a bone 3 times over the period of 4 football (soccer) matches! I produce anything from indie electronic up to house/techno. With a large catalog of unreleased music, I've recently received support from Radio 1's Annie Mac, as well as tech DJs such as Solardo & Rebüke. On the side, I run my 'indie electronic vibes' playlist, showcasing some of my favourite music!”
What is the soundtrack to your life?
RÜFÜS DU SOL - Bloom (2016). Being in the house & techno scene, 'Bloom' unlocked this euphoric, softer side to me and my music!
What is the most annoying song in the world?
Hahaha, there's so many! Any song where the artist is only in it for the cash grab e.g. some YouTubers
What’s more important to you? Music; or Lyrics? Why?
Being a producer, the music is more important. The limitless possibilities of feelings and sounds you can create from sound design, or just from being creative in general blows me away. Then it's the 'sound' of the voice. Once I'm hooked by those elements, the lyrics become just as important.
If you had the chance to interview an artist, who would it be? (Dead or alive)
