Meet Charlotte, a 36 year old Spotify playlist curator from London, currently living in France..
Name one of your favorite albums of all time?
Nirvana, MTV Unplugged in New York. That was my first ever CD, I was about 13 and I developed a small obsession over Kurt Cobain. I rarely listen to live recordings, except unplugged sessions. That CD is still as good today as it was back then.
What is the best concert you’ve ever been to and why?
I love small venues. All my best memories of concerts are in tiny, intimate places. Big shows are excellent but I find it harder to immerse myself in the music. I remember seeing the Red Hot Chili Peppers at La Cigale in Paris c. 2006. It's not that small but considering who we're talking about, this was absolutely ridiculous. I got a press pass for it, as it was a preview for their latest album : Stadium Arcadium. Now, The Red Hot have not always had a great reputation for live, and given that they were performing for the press, I wasn't expecting much. Obviously, it was absolutely incredible. 1.5H of non stop music, Flea was astounding, I felt terribly privileged and loved every minute of it.
If you were a singer, what current living artist would you like to collaborate with?
Radiohead / Thom York. Who wouldn't? And really, a duet a la 'This mess we're in' is well overdue. I want the cryptic album promotion too. Maybe we can come up with an interactive musical Black Mirror episode.
What artist, dead or alive, who would you interview and why?
I was going to say Christine and the Queens, because she's awesome and I'd really like to meet her, but the reality is I'd love to interview Marilyn Manson. He's a pretty smart and fascinating guy. Beyond the music, I'd really like to hear what he has to say about what's going on right now, politically and socially.
What is the last song you listened to?
Billie Eilish : bury a friend
