Honey, honey

Meet Elizabeth, a 19 year old Spotify playlist curator from Chicago..
“My friends knew I listened to all genres of music and would frequently ask for suggestions. So I figured it would be a good idea to compile all my favorite songs to a playlist. Honey, Honey quickly became a very eclectic and a bit quirky. I still add to it continually. One second it will be a melancholy French love song and then next will be a gritty rock ‘n roll tune.”

Tell me a little about yourself - Do you make music? Why do you love music?

I definitely have aspirations to make music one day! I have written a few songs and love to play guitar, piano and sing. I’m very influenced by jazz, blues, funk and rock ‘n roll. There’s not a single day that goes by that I don’t listen to music. It sets the stage for your day and is so powerful it can change your mood in an instant. If you live everyday like it’s a movie, then you of course need a killer soundtrack to go along with it.

What is the best concert you have attended?

It is a tie between Citizen Cope and The Last Shadow Puppets. Both shows were at House of Blues in Chicago. They were incredible experiences and nights I’ll remember for the rest of my life. Also Jeff Goldblum & The Mildred Snitzer Orchestra gave an uproarious, audience driven performance at Park West, beautiful music and a very fun night.

Name a song that has been on 'repeat'

There are a few actually, Right Down the Line by Gerry Rafferty, I Can’t Go for That (No Can Do) by Hall and Oates, and Every Time He Comes Around by Minnie Riperton.

Name an artist that you have just discovered

Madeleine Peyroux! She’s a jazz singer and her voice is absolutely gorgeous. I highly recommend you check out her album Dreamland.

If you were an artist, who would you love to collaborate and make music with?

That’s a tough one! Tom Waits, Melody Gardot, Leon Bridges and Alex Turner, but if they were still alive, Jeff Buckley, Chet Baker and Joe Cocker.

What song do you know the words to, but hate to listen to?

Oops!...I Did it Again by Britney Spears
