Hip Hop Across The Board

Meet Slim Johnson.
“I wanted to give the artist in my region more exposure. We have a very diverse pool of talent that definitely should be heard by the masses.”

What music did you grow up listening to as a young kid?

A: I grew up listening to a little bit of everything except maybe country. There are some rock groups that I really dig, but for the most part, Hip Hop has always been where my heart is.

Name one of your favorite Albums of all time?

A: Lil Wayne "The Block is Hot". Only because Wayne was hungry and he was more creative as a 14-year-old kid at the time. His early works were phenomenal.

What's the best concert you’ve been too?

A: The best concert I've seen was Jay Z 4:44 tour. That was a bucket list type of thing definitely.

Do you have a hidden talent?

A: I secretly produce or make beats rather. I've produced a couple records for a few artists here recently that’s about to come out. I don't think I'm that good honestly, but everybody I let hear something says the beats are dope. I rather stick to writing the lyrics, to be honest, producing is just a bored hobby I would say for me.

What’s your favorite quote?

A: Work Hard Play Harder is one of my favorite sayings. I believe we should all reward ourselves when we sacrifice to get things done and actually succeed.
