Meet Kyra, a music lover from Iraq.
“I am always trying to listen to up and coming new music. I will always make a playlist for any part of my life. whether I’m happy, sad or a mix between the two, there is a song that will blend perfectly and enhance those emotions."
What is the soundtrack to your life?
Waves - Miguel (Tame Impala remix)
my life motto is not to make waves, but ride them instead
What is the most annoying song in the world?
alone x marshmello or just anything super happy but “corny” at the same time
What’s more important to you? Music; or Lyrics? Why?
as a big fan of EDM, i would definitely say the music portion just because of how powerful the beat and drop can be. whether it’s super groovy and cheers you up or has an amazing build up that gives you chills- personally i find that more important than the lyrics
this is a loaded question because i have quite a few. right off the bat, kings of leon is my favorite sounding band. but then i also love to support artists that are genuine and love what they are doing especially when it’s so different from everyone else so probably flume or even RL grime because they have really laid the foundation for that type of future sound. however melodic dubstep will always have a place in my heart and for that illenium is also one of my favorites since his remix of disarm you got me through a dark year and seeing him play live in 2016 after that dark year made everything feel like it came full circle. also! sorry i have one more, seven lions because his music helped me as well. i have so many more but those are off the top of my head
If you had the chance to interview an artist, who would it be? (Dead or alive)
i think i’d be way too nervous to interview someone lol but i’d have to choose Excision just because that man (Jeff) is absolutely killing the game and is so dedicated so I’d love to see where all the drive and creativity comes from
Rufus du Sol in Seattle! I watched their live stream on Coachella and looked up when they were coming in tour, coincidentally they were going to be there the following saturday. usually i work weekends but when i came into work that day, i learned i had that saturday off so it was almost like it was all meant to happen :)
