Meet Beatrice Willen, a 26-year-old from Sweden.
“I did the playlist together with two girlfriends one night when we were drinking wine and the guys we were dating were being the biggest d-bags. So we made a playlist that’s called fuck you right back with songs to empower anyone that’s being treated badly by their partner. It was to make ourselves feel that we were better off without the other person and that life was easier that way. Then we just added classic and new party songs so we could listen to the list while pre-gaming.”
What artist, dead or alive, who would you interview and why?
SLASH. He's been my idol and big crush for over 10 years. I actually went to his show in Stockholm a few days ago. I started to listen to Guns N Roses when I was about 14 and their brutal honesty, roughness, and fuck you lifestyle was blowing me away. Ever since then I have been trying to meet him. Even though I'm getting closer to my goal all the time, the happiest day of my life is still yet to come.
What is the best concert you’ve ever been to?
I love going to concerts and been to many many shows. Besides Guns N Roses and Slash, there have been some very memorable ones: that hot summer day in Hyde Park in London with over 50 000 people. The 10-hour wait for the Rolling Stones was all worth it. One show that was just crazy was the Hives in a small location in Sweden. I started in the middle, then I was on the right side, and by the end of the show, I was on the left side. I've never been to a show where people are just feeling the music so much and just dancing around.
What music did you grow up listening to as a young kid?
My dad has influenced me a lot when it comes to music I'm listening to today. I grew in a house where the Beatles, Zeppelin, Prince, Queen and stuff like that were played. I have my own vinyl collection and a record player from the 70s. I also love to explore new music and can sit for hours on Spotify and just go from artist to artist to find something that makes an impression on me.
What is your favorite quote?
"You never slow down, you never grow old". It's from Tom Petty's song Mary Jane's Last Dance (amazing song and I was lucky to see him play at the Hollywood Bowl a week before he passed away). If you just keep on doing things that are important to you and never stop dreaming, the age doesn't matter.
Name one of your favorite albums of all time?
I have a Top 5 Albums Guns N Roses - Appetite for Destruction. Oasis - Definitely Maybe. Madonna - Ray of Light. Borns - Dopamine. Red Hot Chili Peppers - By The Way
