Meet Lauren, 18 years old from Ireland.
“The playlist is basically an amalgamation of mostly upbeat catchy songs I was listening to at the time but I also added general songs that I have a deeper emotional tie with.”
What is the soundtrack to your life?
BANKS- crowded places
I enjoy Charlie Cunningham as he combines classical guitar with interesting sound effects and heartfelt lyrics
If you had the chance to interview an artist, who would it be? (Dead or alive)
An obvious pick is of coarse David Bowie. after seeing his past interviews I feel as though he doesn't give cookie cutter answers and attempts to intelligently interact with the interviewer. He gives zany answers which is always interesting and has lyrics that need deciphering.
What is the best concert you have ever been to?
Hozier without a doubt. He is an amazing preformer with an impressive vocal range that is incredibly impressive in person and uses several obsure instruments in his preformance. It is really awe inspiring
Do you have a favorite quote?
"Whatever material souls are made of, his and mine are the same"
Do you play any instruments? If not, any you would love to learn?
I play the oboe and dabble in piano, but unfortunately cannot play anything of much note. I find woodwind instrument to be whimsical and would be interested in learning how to play more of them.
What is the most annoying song in the world?
Happy- Pharrell. It's sickly sweet I don't enjoy music that has no sting in the tail.
What’s more important to you? Music; or Lyrics? Why?
Music by far. I do enjoy lyricism but I find it more emotive when they convey tone and emotion through the way they are saying things and not just what they are saying souly. I like the way a haunting and slightly unusual Melody can alter your outlook on life or completely devastate but at the same time uplift you. Music is and entirely emotional experience for me that being said I do like a catchy tune from time to time.
