Meet Alex Cruz, 30 years old from Amsterdam, The Netherlands.
“I want to show people my idea of what, in my opinion, soulful, sexy and emotional music is.”
What is the soundtrack to your life?
Getting up in the morning and being grateful for all the opportunities I get in life. Being healthy and being able to share it with people I love and who love me.
I would not do justice to all the amazing artists out there to only pick one artist. Another reason is that I love so many styles and genres within the big spectrum of music: Latin music, African music, Middle Eastern music, Classical Music.....and now I only just named a few genres out of the hundreds maybe thousands so called genres.
If you had the chance to interview an artist, who would it be? (Dead or alive)
That would be Michael Jackson......everyone probably has an opinion about him. Media just write whatever they want about anyone and so they also did about him. A journalist can write something to feed his/her own ego and doesn't necessarily copies/states the words the person being interviewed used. Michael got raised in a family like everyone else, he had siblings, like many of us. He probably had his own issues with his parents every now and then, or maybe to a bigger extend, like many of us. I would have loved asking him questions to show his perspective on many aspects of life. Why I pick Michael is because I think that his natural talent was unique. The way he used his voices was out of this world. And the combination with Quincy Jones as his producer on a few albums made him into an artist who will probably never be forgotten.
What is the best concert you have ever been to?
I hardly go to concerts cause of the lack of time so that's gonna be a hard one......
Do you have a favorite quote?
That's my life slogan (see below)
Do you play any instruments? If not, any you would love to learn?
I play some instruments but I wouldn't call myself a legendary talent in playing these instruments.
Do you have a life slogan?
Live every day you have with intention and from the heart. Be present and be kind. Because this may be your last day.
What is the most annoying song in the world?
I focus on positive things in life. In my opinion annoying songs don't exist cause every artist makes his/her own songs (I hope) with intention and let it come from the heart. If I call someone's song annoying I will be insulting that person.
What’s more important to you? Music; or Lyrics? Why?
It's a combination that makes a song. An instrumental song can speak more words than a song with lyrics
