Meet Jamie, a 30 year old Spotify playlist curator from New Zealand.
“I made the playlist around 3-4 years ago, there was brief period where i had a group of old school songs in different playlists on spotfiy and i needed to put them into one complete playlist. Me and my friends spent a lot of time drinking at a bar called 'Danny Doolans' (located in the viaduct, Auckland). They always had a cover band that played a mix of old school and sing a long songs, so that is where i drew my inspiration to create the playlist from.”
Describe your playlist. Perfect situation(s) for jamming it include:
"Any occasion really, whether you are looking for a couple songs to sing along before heading out on the town, or whether you are travelling and want a break from mainstream music, this playlist is for you."
What kind of music/artists did you grow up listening to?
"A variety of music (which is quite evident in the playlist). My mother always had Abba/Westlife on in the car and growing up with a sister and three brothers (of different ages) they had a mix of rap, rock and pop."
Any interesting artist(s) you've just started listening to recently?
"I have been listening to a lot of electronic/house lately (mainly due to Tim Berglings/Avicii's birthday), and getting back into the gym. But i am sure when Summer hits (December in New Zealand), the Danny Doolans playlist will be back in full swing."

"I am a Director of Sport/Teacher at Glenfield College based in the North Shore of Auckland. I currently coach (and play) Football, which is a massive passion of mine. It is currently Maori Language Week (Te Reo Wiki o Te Reo Maori) here in New Zealand, so 'ahakoa iti, akona korekohia' which means 'learn a little, use a little'. Chur Jamie Mason"
