Meet August, a 23-year-old hip-hop lover from Sweden.
“I will judge the song from the vibes I get from it, it can be Nas, it can be Migos or it can be rap lyrics in French I don't understand a word of.”
What is the soundtrack to your life?
I don't really have a "go to" soundtrack to my life, but a song that I've never got tired of even though countless of plays is Montreal by The Weeknd, it's probably also the soundtrack that I relate to the most.
What is the most annoying song in the world?
The most annoying song in the world for me would probably be something like "Somebody that I used to know" By Gotye. Or just any non-avoidable mainstream hit song really.
What’s more important to you? Music; or lyrics? Why?
I find the melody and music far more important than the lyrics in a song. That's really not a popular opinion right now for a hip-hop head like me, but for me, it's far from essential for a song to have some sort of message or meaning. I will judge the song from the vibes I get from it, it can be Nas, it can be Migos or it can be rap lyrics in French I don't understand a word of.
Favorite artist is truly a hard question to answer. I guess, based on statistics from Spotify the last 5 years it is The Weeknd, he has been the top one for me every single year and I've had about 80,000 minutes listened overall every year.
If you had the chance to interview any artist, who would it be? (dead or alive)
This one is also difficult to answer but probably XXXTentacion. I would say MJ, but I just feel like I would have an easier time interviewing X.
Last concert you went to?
I'm not a big concert guy to be honest. I know I would probably love it and even watching live performances on youtube almost always gets me in my feelings. If I could pick any right now though I would want to experience Travis Scott live.
