Meet Billy-Joe, 24 years old from Southeast England.Abbie Kane
“I’m a musician from the south of the UK. I was always into music from a young age which led me to study music at University. I’ve been playing the drums for 13 years and Guitar for 9. My whole world revolves around music. I’ve been in a number of projects ranging from Metal to Jazz to my most recent solo acoustic stuff on Spotify. It’s my acoustic stuff that opened up the world of chillout guitar that led me to make my playlists to try and help support other artists. Most, if not all the artists on my playlists are independent so when you’re listening to them, you’re helping out new artists.”
What is the soundtrack to your life?
I’d say, a prominent album from my childhood that I still listen to, would have to be Led Zeppelin ‘Physical Graffiti’. That’s a phenomenal album from start to finish. So I’d say that’s the soundtrack to my life just on pure nostalgia and longevity.
What is the most annoying song in the world?
If I had to answer right now, personally, I’d say that I find stuff with autotune and lazy melodies/ lyrics pretty irritating.
What’s more important to you? Music; or Lyrics? Why?
I’d have to say lyrics on this one. The song needs to have meaning in my opinion. Although, I find they do need to compliment each other.
Right now, I’m quite into Blackberry Smoke. I just like that country rock feel and they are incredible musicians/ lyricists and songwriters.
If you had the chance to interview an artist, who would it be? (Dead or alive)
I agonized over this question for ages but, I think Greta Van Fleet would make for a cool interview. They’re a new band, who got massive really really quickly and are living out the dreams of many rock n’ roll movies. I think the trials and tribulations and impact of that ‘overnight sensation’ would make for a really insightful interview.
