Meet Rebekka, a 30-year-old from Bergen, Norway.
“I studied Music Management and am about to get my masters in innovation and leadership while working in a super awesome cross-functional team at IKEA. I have previously been a part of the team at Warner Music Norway and Momentum. I am currently on a breather away from the exhausting but magical environment that the music industry offers”
What is the soundtrack to your life?
The first tune coming to mind is definitely Tame Impala’s "The less I know the better". Mainly because it pretty much sums up my love life. It also makes me want to smile and laugh and burst out in tears at the same time. Also. There is something epic about that bass line.
What is the most annoying song in the world?
I am very open to all kinds of genres and artists. Some influencers in Norway have started releasing music. Just because they can. And it is absolutely horrible. Besides that, if I would have to choose an Internationally known song "Party in the USA" by Miley Cyrus. It always gets me off the dance floor.
What’s more important to you? Music or Lyrics? Why?
A funky beat beats everything. In that case, the lyrics can be whatever they like. I have this weird thing with all music where I intentionally keep myself from looking up the lyrics if there are some parts I can’t grasp. This way, the song keeps its power over me. I have no idea why I feel like this. But lyrics can also be crucial. Say I hear a song on the radio thinking it is «just okay," then I hear it again and I understand the lyrics more - it’s a whole new song.
My all-time favorite artist since before I could walk has always been Michael Jackson. The king of pop. He set the bar not only for singers but for dancers, musicians, writers, producers, directors, poets.. humans in general. He was ahead of his time and put so much feeling in everything he did.
If you had the chance to interview an artist, who would it be? (Dead or alive)
Hmm. Maybe it would be Kendrick Lamar. Or maybe Gavin DeGraw, but that would mainly be an attempt to ask him out on a date. If you read this, Gavin, hit me up!
Last concert you went to?
Actually, I have not attended a concert since June which was Bergenfest 2018. I saw Rival Sons and then Queens of the Stone Age right after, and I thought I had died and gone to heaven. Oh, and now I remember that I saw Bruno Mars in July. Also amazing!
