Best of 2000’s Country

Meet Cole, 22 years old from St. Louis.
“I made this playlist because I wanted to put all of the great country songs I grew up with on one playlist.”

What music did you grow up listening to as a young kid?

My parents fell in love to Randy Travis, Garth Brooks and Alabama, I was raised on Tim McGraw, George Strait and Alan Jackson and I fell in love with country with Zac Brown, Eric Church and Kenny Chesney

Name one of your favorite albums of all time?

Sinners Like Me - Eric Church and The Foundation - Zac Brown Band. Both of those two are loaded with hits and they were the foundation of two artists that have shaped my taste in country music.

What artist, dead or alive, who would you interview and why?

Johnny Cash. I would love to grab a beer and talk through all the peaks and valleys of his life, from the superstar he was to the gospel-singer he became later in his career.

Name your top 3 favorite artist and why?

Currently, they are: Chris Stapleton, Turnpike Troubadours and Shane Smith and the Saints. I love the emphasis that all three have on classic country sounds, and their use of the fiddle in their music. I seek out Texas/Red Dirt country a lot nowadays to find authenticity in country music.

If you were a singer, what current living artist would you like to collaborate with?

I would love to sing with Josh Turner. He has the coolest voice in country music and I wish I could sing the way he does in "Would You Go With Me?"
