Meet Raymond, 27 years old from Los Angeles, CA
“I like to think I started working in the music industry 10 years ago at 17. That is when I started knocking on restaurant doors asking if I can throw parties... and it worked. For a couple of months, I was throwing parties every other weekend, charging $5 at the door. It was later that year when I decided to learn how to DJ and start djing myself. Getting booked up to 3 times a night (now with a weekly residency at a local night club) I was fairly successful but there was a limit I had hit. Nobody was paying more than $150 for an hour. Now 21 I had been messing with Ableton making edits and bootlegs but I realized there were so many things I didn't know and ended up at LARS studying music production. After graduating I called my friend who at the time managed Deorro a very known DJ/ Producer and asked if I can intern for him. A couple of months later I was brought on as an employee of Panda Funk Records. About 2 years in at PandaFunk I had some mediocre success (1 trap city release has my highlight) under the name Sintapia, but I found much better producers and artist than myself so I decided to turn Sintapia into a management company. I co-managed Landis With Steve Aoki's EU mgmt Seminal music for a while, also Deorro's mgmt at the time Crazyness mgmt. 3 years into Panda Funk things changed and I left to work at where I work now full-time DashGo (digital distribution). We distribute some well-known artist in dance like Dack Janiels' label 40oz Cult. Being at DashGo inspired me to start my own label Sintapia Records focusing in all genres, where I know average about 2m monthly streams.”
