“Design art and nothing else.”
What music did you grow up listening to as a young kid?
Growing up my parents listened to a lot of Elvis and old school country. That's where I get my love for the banjo. In middle school I was definitely that midwest white kid listening to N.W.A. and hair bands, but in high school it was Jane's Addiction, Smashing pumpkins, Beastie Boys and Green Day.
Name one of your favorite albums of all time?
Jane's addiction 'ritual de lo habitual', That one stuck with me. If you've seen 'the gift' you'll know why. That was some heavy shit and just a beautiful album, definitely made me say no to heroin too
What is the best concert you’ve ever been to and why?
A bucket list was seeing jane's in gainesville, fl after they reunited. For a while I never thought I'd get to see them. The concert was a mix of so many different visual elements, dancers and musicians. Two stages, a burlesque show, it was just insane and then afterwards we went to an after party where Perry had a DJ set.
One of the best festivals I've been to was Mumford & Son's gentlemen of the road tours, I really loved the production value and creativity that went into that whole tour
What is the last song you listened to?
Jane's addiction's 'ted, just admit it' is playing right now. You had me going so I turned on that album
How did the playlist come to be?
I'd just joined Spotify and needed alt music to sleep to at night. Ever since I can remember I've slept to music. It was never created with the intention to be popular, so its popularity has definitely taken me by surprise for sure
