Meet Julia, she's old enough to know the best music around and she's from Baltimore.
“I kept getting requests on YouTube and Instagram to share the names of artists and songs I was listening to so I finally made a public Spotify account. I love afropop and dancehall so I wanted my first playlist to highlight some artists in these genres. New playlists go live the first Monday of each month!”

What is the soundtrack to your life?
It's a strange assortment of everything but it works!
Favorite artist?
Naming one artist would be an injustice to every other amazing musician I appreciate.
If you had the chance to interview an artist, who would it be? (Dead or alive)
Mike Skinner, Peggy Lee, Sammy Davis Junior, Amy Winehouse
What is the best concert you have ever been to?
An Incubus concert in college - I'm actually not into their music but I found a $100 bill under my seat at the venue and after a couple beers, it felt like the most exciting thing that's ever happened at a concert. I asked around but no one claimed it so I gave it to a waitress at the Double T diner in Baltimore as a tip that night. My friends and I got hooked up at the diner for like 5 years after that so it ended up being the best decision ever! I have always been reckless with stashing money in my pants so I'm still not sure if the money fell out of my back pocket or if I really found it.
Do you have a favorite quote?
"I care for myself. The more solitary, the more friendless, the more unsustained I am, the more I will respect myself.” - Jane Eyre
Do you play any instruments? If not, any you would love to learn?
I can confidently play Hot Cross Buns on the recorder and that's where my instrumental training ends. I'd like to learn how to play the piano at some point in life.
Do you have a life slogan?
Get busy living, or get busy dying. Stephen King said it first!
What is the most annoying song in the world?
There's a lot of them but Gangnam Style is definitely in the top 5.
What’s more important to you? Music; or Lyrics? Why?
It depends. It's hard to overlook really bad lyrics when a song is in English. If it's in another language and I can't understand the words it's kind of a free pass though....haha. I just cross my fingers and hope for the best.🤞🏻
