Meet Isabella, a 19 year old Spotify playlist curator from Houston, Texas…
“I’m a journalism and art history student at American University and my hobbies include making hyper-specific Spotify playlists, going thrifting, and making coffee. My Instagram is @isabellagoodman.”
When & why did you make your playlist?
I made the playlist in the fall of 2014 so that I’d have all of my calmer music in one place.
Describe your playlist. Perfect situation(s) for jamming include:
It’s good to chill out to, fall asleep to, do homework to. It’s also really good for long drives during fall.
What was the best concert you've ever attended and why? (Include as many details as you'd like: city / venue / when / with whom...)
I saw Vampire Weekend at Merriwhether Post Pavilion in Maryland this August. They played for like two and a half hours and did almost all of their greatest hits, so it was such a fun experience. Hannah Hunt and Diplomat’s Son are two of my all time favorite songs and they played them back to back, that definitely made my night.
What kind of music / artists did you grow up listening to?
My parents definitely taught me well so I had a good foundation but once I started to find my own taste I really got into everything from rap to indie.
Who are your all-time favorite artists and why?
Lorde has to be my all time favorite artist. Her music has seen my through every phase of life, it’s never not been relevant to what I’m going through. Clever songwriting is really what draws me in as a listener, and another favorite artist of mine is Mac Miller. There are so many lyrical gems throughout his discography and all of his albums are so solid. Swimming is definitely one of my all-time favorite albums.
