Meet Samanta, a 19 year old Spotify playlist curator from Norway…
“I moved to Norway when I was 4 years old, and I felt that it was very difficult to fit in when I didn't speak their language. There was a lot of bullying and I often felt that it was difficult to find a place where I belong. When I started to listen to music, there was songs that described my situations very often and that helped me to remember that I’m not alone. Happily, I learned the language and got a lot of friends here in Norway, friends that are always by my side. This playlist helped me also a lot to fight cancer that I got summer 2018, songs that were about not giving up and accepting who you are.'Let music lead you through difficult days.' ”
When & why did you make your playlist?
I made this playlist a few years ago, and I listen to it everyday.
Describe your playlist. Perfect situation(s) for jamming include:
My playlist has mostly sad/calm songs. I like to listen to that playlist if I have a bad day, if i’m tired, If I’m thinking a lot or when I just want to listen to more chill songs. The best part about that list is that most of the songs have stories or perfectly describe different situations. It’s nice to see that more people like that playlist as well.
What kind of music / artists did you grow up listening to?
I didn't listen to music so often when I was little, but when I did Cascada was a favourite.
Who are your all-time favorite artists and why?
I actually listen to everything, but I know that Anna Clendening, James Arthur and Lewis Capaldi have beautiful stories in their songs.
