Meet Chris, 24 years old from New York City.
“I've been sharing music for years. I would share monthly playlists on Soundcloud for friends and people at my school (UCONN) and it grew into a pretty engaged fanbase. I love having the ability to impact someone's day with a song I know they'll enjoy.”
What is the soundtrack to your life?
I would say Bob Marley - Jammin
My favorite artist changes by the season hahaha. I'm a HUGE fan of Still Woozy right now. He's getting ready to drop his debut album, one of the most unique artists I've listened to. Also, i've been listening to Dominic Fike on repeat. Another debut album we should all be looking forward to.
If you had the chance to interview an artist, who would it be? (Dead or alive)
Probably Whethan. I'd love to kick it with him and oliver tree and dive deep into how they became the artists they are now and the steps they took to separate themselves as unique artists while still appealing to a somewhat mainstream crowd.
What is the best concert you have ever been to?
Firefly 2016, I don't think anything will beat my first festival experience!
Also I saw Rezz a few weeks ago at Brooklyn Mirage in NYC. My favorite venue in NY and Rezz always knows how to put on a show. Go to Brooklyn Mirage in the summer! You'll enjoy it.
Do you have a favorite quote?
No, but I just made this up right now: "do what makes you happy when you're still young. Identify what your dreams are, what you're good at, and chase them without fear." - Chris Skorr
Do you play any instruments? If not, any you would love to learn?
I play the piano. Learning piano as a kid gave me an ear for melody lines and chord progressions that helps me so much when working with artists or discovering new music (THANKFUL). I mix and DJ for fun. I'd love to pick up producing when I can devote the time.
What’s more important to you? Music; or Lyrics? Why?
The music always was more important to me. The melody is the most important part for me when deciding whether or not I like a song. It wasn't until I started working in the industry I started to listen more for lyrics and a story behind the track. It's somewhat unfortunate though because now it's hard for me to find music I f**k with since I'm looking into so many factors of the song. I'm a perfectionist ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
