As Google Transitions to Youtube Music, It Shuts Down Its Artist Hubs
The Google Play Artist Hub, launched back in 2012 was a way for independent, lesser known artists to sell and share their music through the Google Play store. The company is planning to get rid of Google Play Music entirely and replace it with Youtube Music.
As of April 30th members of Google Play will not be able to upload new music or edit any existing uploads. Luckily in the future all the key features of Google Play Music will be transferred over to Youtube Music, including user uploads. This will mean that artists will have to get on the Youtube Music train, and fast.
Artists will receive their final reports and payments on or around May 31st, following entire deletion at the end of July.
